ABOUT US DGI

L'Etape Denmark by Tour de France is held as part of Denmark's biggest recurring cycling event, Hærvejsløbet - The Viking Gran Fondo. The event is organized by Danish sports organization DGI in cooperation with local clubs and associations along the route. There are about more than 900 volunteers from various organizations involved in organizing the event.

They arrange starts, signs, food and drink stations and a lot more along the way and in the finish area. For their work before, during and after Haervejsloebet they receive associations fee for their efforts.

Every year, more than 1 million Danish kroner goes to the voluntary associations from L'Etape Denmark by Tour de France to support their work to promote exercise participation in Denmark.

In 2024 Hærvejsløbet - The Viking Gran Fondo is arranged for the 12th time and for the 2nd time as an official L'Etape by Tour de France event.
